Installed to EV standards
EV charging pulls heavy current for hours at a time, so we use industrial-grade outlets, the correct GFCI breaker where code requires it, and copper sized for a continuous load. The quote covers the full run from your panel — no surprises when we open the wall.
Already have a 240V outlet in the garage? We'll test it under load during the assessment and tell you straight whether it's safe for nightly charging.
NEMA 14-50 questions
What's the difference between a NEMA 14-50 outlet and a hardwired charger?
A NEMA 14-50 is a 240V outlet your plug-in charger (including a Tesla Mobile Connector) plugs into — flexible and easy to replace later. A hardwired charger is permanently connected, can often charge a bit faster, and has no plug to wear. We install both and will recommend based on your car and panel.
How fast is charging on a NEMA 14-50?
A 14-50 outlet on a 50-amp circuit supports up to 40 amps of continuous charging — roughly 30–40 miles of range per hour depending on your charger and car. Plenty for overnight charging for nearly every driver.
Can I just use a regular dryer outlet instead?
Sometimes a dryer-style outlet exists, but EV charging is a continuous heavy load — the circuit, breaker (GFCI where required), and outlet grade all matter. We inspect what's there and tell you honestly whether it's safe to use or needs an upgrade.
